Alfresco is the Open Source Alternative for Enterprise Content Management (ECM), providing Document Management, Collaboration, Records Management, Knowledge Management, Web Content Management and Imaging. Alfresco offers the industry leading, open source document management system to capture, search, and collaborate on documents with full library services and lifecycle management on a unified, robust repository. Alfresco offers one integrated repository to manage all formats of content across document management, web content management, email, and imaging repositories. Alfresco allows images to be simply captured through its shared drive CIFS interface with automatic meta-data extraction and classification. For high-volume, sophisticated image capture Alfresco is integrated with the Kofax Ascent Capture product. Alfresco is a modern state-of-the-art ECM built using Spring, Hibernate, Lucene and jBPM based on standards such JSR-170, JSR-168, Web Services and REST. This allows Alfresco to be deployed in any J2SE 5.0 (JRE 5.0) application server such as Apache Tomcat or JBoss Application Server delivering significantly better scalability and high-availability properties such as distributed cache management, automatic failover and clustering.

The goal of this website is to give an end to end open source solution for a typical small company including Telephony, Document management, Customer Relation Application, Networking, Remote access, Desktop solutions and so on.
Although only the tools/applications have been listed on the website for the moment, a complete network diagram and individual how-to articles will follow.
Please note that for most of the installation instructions, we will not re-invent the wheel. A large number of very competent experts have already written how-to articles, we will just refer you to those. We will only document the missing links between the different components or if we feel that some installations could be better documented.
